With the environment one of the hot topics of the day and seemingly getting hotter, now is a good time to launch the Eco Colchester Website.
Eco Colchester was set up by environment group en-form to allow the residents of Colchester to have a say in how to make Colchester a green and pleasant place to live, work and play and help them to live more sustainable lives for today and our children tomorrow.
The website has been designed as a toolkit to enable local people to make a difference. A website for residents, schools, businesses, faith groups and families to learn and take action on the climate emergency. It is a place to explore all of the great things already going on in Colchester, and a place to plan for more.
Grace Darke, volunteer coordinator of Eco Colchester said ‘this website has been the result of 2 years hard work, collating all of the great environmental things happening in Colchester into one place. It includes local environment projects, groups, charities, events, resources and businesses. This will help anyone living or working in Colchester to know where and how they can help the environment’.
The website was put together by volunteers and local groups in Colchester with a small grant from Friends of the Earth. It will be updated regularly so if you spot missing items contact ecocolchester@en-form.org.uk.
The website can be found at ecocolchester.org.uk
