What is the Colchester LEAF?

Colchester Centre for Learning, Environment and Action for the Future (LEAF) is a community space set up to drive a community-led environmental action plan. Promoting education and solutions for sustainable living and helping us adapt to climate mitigation and adaptation. We are bringing together local environment groups and projects to help residents, businesses and other organisations to find out about sustainable lifestyles and adapt to a changing planet.

Where is the Colchester LEAF?

We are at 27 Priory Walk, Colchester, CO1 1LG, opposite Sainsburys.

What happens at the Colchester LEAF?

There are a wide range of activities that take place at the LEAF. As well as running our own talks, film nights, workshops, eco library and refill station, local groups can host regular and one off events and meetings that help us to live a more sustainable life. In line with our charitable objectives the Colchester LEAF is open to all environmental groups and all viewpoints. If you are a local group or run an environmental project and are interested in having space at the Colchester LEAF let us know now by filling in this enquiry booking form. Currently we ask for donations to pay for the running costs of the Centre as follows: 
£25 per hour for a business or large organisation
£10 per hour for charities and not-for-profit organisations. 
We want to encourage a wide a range of activities and groups, especially smaller groups to use the centre so if affordability is an issue for your group, please get in touch to see if we can find an alternative arrangement.

We have the following regular events:

Fridays 1pm till 3pm Crochet, Knitting and Sewing Support Group,helps you learn a new skill, pick up an abandoned project and share your ideas and experience with others.
Last Saturday of the month 12 noon till 2.30pm the Repair Cafe where you can book a repair for electrical goods, household items and Textiles.
